The Designer

KESIENA had an interest in knitting and fashion design from an early age. At 17, she moved to New York City to attend Parsons School of Design, where she graduated with a BFA in fashion design. She was recruited to join Nike’s Flyknit innovation team at their WHQ in Beaverton, OR in 2014. At Nike she received a holistic view of how to create revolutionary knit products: With access to Nike’s infamous innovation kitchen, exclusive visits to Nike’s fabled DNA archive, and complete visibility to Nike’s proprietary flyknit supply chain. Passionate about finding, championing and supporting a wider range of brands utilizing knitwear, she moved back to NY. After consulting for Calvin Klein and consumed by a love of innovation and industrial knitting, she began working at Stoll Knit Resource, where she currently works. Prior to Nike, KESIENA’s strong sense of the fashion landscape came from her experience working with the creative teams at Lanvin, Theyskens’ Theory, Alexander Wang, and with the legendary Pat McGrath. She’s based in Brookyln.

Her interests span art, design, fashion, film, textiles, travel, nature and sustainable practices. She values collaboration especially with sustainable initiatives & special projects concerning materials.
